They say your first kiss should be earned.
Mine was stolen by a devil in a masquerade mask under the black Chicago sky.
They say the vows you take on your wedding day are sacred.
Mine were broken before we left church.
They say your heart only beats for one man.
Mine split and bled for two rivals who fought for it until the bitter end.
I was promised to Angelo Bandini, the heir to one of the most powerful families in the Chicago Outfit.
Then taken by Senator Wolfe Keaton, who held my father’s sins over his head to force me into marriage.
They say that all great love stories have a happy ending.
I, Francesca Rossi, found myself erasing and rewriting mine until the very last chapter.
One kiss.
Two men.
Three lives.
Entwined together.
And somewhere between these two men, I had to find my forever.

My Review

“No love is fully requited. No love is equal. No love is fair. There is always one side that loves more. And you better not be that side—because it suffers.”

This is my first review on my blog. I choose The kiss thief is my favorite book of the year 2019 until now. For me, this book is perfection. I read four books by this author and by far my favorite Shen book to date. I read this book in January and I still think about this book.

“A Story of a Nemesis and a Villain with no chance at a happy ending. Where the prince doesn’t save the princess. He tortures her. And the beauty doesn’t sleep. She’s stuck. In a nightmare.”

The plot of this book has arranged a marriage between the main characters Wolfe and Francesca. I read many books about arranged marriage but what I loved about this book is the relationship between the main characters.

Francesca Rossi is a young woman and she is a contradiction, she is naive but isn’t stupid, she is submissive but isn’t dormant. She is loyal and kind and she knows that deserve to be respected. She fights for her independence, for her education and for her family and for her husband. I like her because she’s a fighter and she fights for herself.

“Just because your story had a few chapters where I wasn’t the main lead doesn’t make me any less the love of your life. And you’re mine. This is it. This is us.”

Wolfe is an alpha and he wants the things to be done in his way. At first, he doesn’t care about Francesca, for him, she is just a bride and an arm candy. After he gets to know her, he realizes that she is a wonderful woman. He learned to respect her, to protect her, to admire her and to love her.

Their relationship developed slowly, with mistakes from both sides, with forgiveness, and with patience to know each other. It was hard for them to trust each other because of their past and their secrets. I loved them and I recommend this book to everyone to read this book. If you want to read one book this year, read this book.

“My wings are not meant to fly,” I whispered. “They’re meant to shield our family.”
