Maren Cole survived adolescence by relying on her intellect, but has never felt more different as an adult. The diagnosis she received as a person with Autism makes functioning in a fast-paced city with bright lights and big sounds a challenge. Forget about dating. Forget marriage. She would like to survive a conversation. Independence has never been more isolating or confusing and is complicated by a situation that puts her directly in the path of arrogant lawyer Caleb Allan.
Caleb isn’t interested in anyone except himself and his legal career. The one person he doesn’t need to spend time with is the awkward Maren Cole, but their interactions are unavoidable when she has the potential to push his career ahead. Forced to confront the fact that she’s unlike anyone he’s ever met, Caleb knows falling for her will destroy his work. He may also lose his heart to a woman who may never fully love him back.
I received the book through the review opportunity at Xpresso Book. Thank you.
This is the first book read by this author Emily Duvall. For me, this book All of me is the right book at the right moment. I enjoy the book and I love the characters, Maren and Caleb. Usually, when I read from point of view autistic characters I can’t connect very well with the character but this book, I could understand Maren and her actions.
The subject of this book is a love story between Maren and Caleb and to be who you are because someone will love you for who you are.
Maren is a person with autism and her family wants to protect her. Maren wants to be treated like a normal person and sometimes she gets frustrated because the people around her don’t understand her and don’t accept her. She wants to be independent and to live alone.
She fell in love with Caleb because he sees her like a normal person and he challenges her to try new things. She learned to compromise for Caleb.
Caleb is a lawyer and he wants to be promoted in his legal career and he isn’t interested in anyone.
At first, Caleb doesn’t want to spend time with Maren because for him, Maren is the awkward Maren Cole. After he gets to know her and to accept her as who she is. Caleb loves that Maren doesn’t lie and she is sincere with him and she tells him her feelings for him. He wants her to be independent because he knows that she can live alone. Slowly, he fell in love with Maren because she is sincere and beautiful inside and out.
Their relationship is beautiful because Caleb loves Maren for who she is and Maren makes him open up about his past. Sometimes, their relationship is difficult because they have different opinions but they love each other.
I really like All of me and I recommend everyone to read this book.
