Tempted by desire.
Unleashed by destiny.

Bryce Quinlan had the perfect life—working hard all day and partying all night—until a demon murdered her closest friends, leaving her bereft, wounded, and alone. When the accused is behind bars but the crimes start up again, Bryce finds herself at the heart of the investigation. She’ll do whatever it takes to avenge their deaths.

Hunt Athalar is a notorious Fallen angel, now enslaved to the Archangels he once attempted to overthrow. His brutal skills and incredible strength have been set to one purpose—to assassinate his boss’s enemies, no questions asked. But with a demon wreaking havoc in the city, he’s offered an irresistible deal: help Bryce find the murderer, and his freedom will be within reach.

As Bryce and Hunt dig deep into Crescent City’s underbelly, they discover a dark power that threatens everything and everyone they hold dear, and they find, in each other, a blazing passion—one that could set them both free, if they’d only let it.

With unforgettable characters, sizzling romance, and page-turning suspense, this richly inventive new fantasy series by #1 New York Times bestselling author Sarah J. Maas delves into the heartache of loss, the price of freedom—and the power of love.

MY REVIEW

“Through love, all is possible.”

This is my favorite phrase of the whole book because in this book everything is about love. It’s love between two best friends and their bound will give Bryce the courage to find the murder and get’s justice for her.

“…There’s nothing wrong with a party girl. I don’t get why the world thinks there is…Its easier for me—when people assume the worst about what I am. It lets me see who they really are — Bryce”

Bryce had a simple life with Danika and her pack and enjoyed going out with her and her friends and she was the party girl. But when she loses a Danika, she lost a part of herself and she began to change her life and to give up parties and late nights out. Bryce isn’t just a party girl, she is a strong woman, empathetic and loyal and friendly. For her, Danika was her friend and her family and their bound was real and genuine. The loss of Danika and her pack changed her fundamentally changed her.

Hunt, like Bryce, lost an important person in his life and the lost changed him and pushed him to dream of a better future for him. He isn’t free and he dreams to be free and for that, he will do anything.

“You’re the person I don’t need to explain myself to – not when it matters. You see everything I am, and you don’t run away from it.”

Bryce and Hunt were forced by circumstances to work together to find Danika’s murder and they had to live together.  They don’t have anything in common but they become friends and they learned to accept each other. I loved their relationship between Bryce and Hunt because they establish a healthy relationship and hunt accepts Bryce’s boundaries and respect her for who she is and she didn’t feel the need to hide from him. Bryce accepted him and she didn’t judge him and loved him.

House of Earth and Blood was long, the first part was a little slow but the second part was perfect, was full of twists, suspense, revelations, love, and friendship. I loved the world created by Sarah J. Maas and can’t wait to read more about this world. I recommend to everyone House of Earth and Blood because it has everything love, friendship, suspense, and twists.
