He will be destruction of the crown and the ruination of the throne.

Power is much easier to acquire than it is to hold onto. Jude learned this lesson when she released her control over the wicked king, Cardan, in exchange for immeasurable power.

Now as the exiled mortal Queen of Faerie, Jude is powerless and left reeling from Cardan’s betrayal. She bides her time determined to reclaim everything he took from her. Opportunity arrives in the form of her deceptive twin sister, Taryn, whose mortal life is in peril.

Jude must risk venturing back into the treacherous Faerie Court, and confront her lingering feelings for Cardan, if she wishes to save her sister. But Elfhame is not as she left it. War is brewing. As Jude slips deep within enemy lines she becomes ensnared in the conflict’s bloody politics.

And, when a dormant yet powerful curse is unleashed, panic spreads throughout the land, forcing her to choose between her ambition and her humanity…

The Queen of Nothing is the last book in the series The Folk of the Air by Holly Black. I was excited to read this book since I read Wicked King.

“In the mortal world, when I thought you were my enemy, I still missed you.”
“My sweet nemesis, how glad I am that you returned.”

The Queen of Nothing begins with Jude being in exile and not in the mortal world she is looking for ways to go back to Elfhame and to Cardan.  When her sister Taryn, needs her help in Elfhame, she accepts to help her and to protect her. Also, she sees this as an opportunity to go back to Elfhame and to end her exile.

“Jude, you can’t really think I don’t know it’s you. I knew you from the moment you walked into the brugh.”

When she goes back to the castle she is recognized by Cardan and she begins this time her journey to the castle as Queen and the wife of Cardan.  She is surrounded by enemies and nobody wants her as a mortal to be the queen and they don’t recognize Cardan as the king.

In this book, Jude is still a strong woman who fights for her right to reign as High Lady of Elfhame, and this time with Cardan beside her. Cardan fights to keep his crown and to protect and to be with Jude. Taryn and Vivi are with Jude this time and they help and protect her. Madoc is still against Jude and Cardan and he wants to win this fight.

“It’s you I love,” he says. “I spent much of my life guarding my heart. I guarded it so well that I could behave as though I didn’t have one at all. Even now, it is a shabby, worm-eaten, and scabrous thing. But it is yours.”

I loved that in The Queen of Nothing  Cardan and Jude work together and they really trust each other. The Queen of Nothing is full of action, twists and surprises, and romance.  I recommend to everyone this trilogy because is amazing.
