They couldโ€™ve been perfect.

In another time. Another world.

Where his wasnโ€™t falling apart.

And hers wasnโ€™t already in pieces.

High school senior Holden Eastwood only has one fear in life: growing up.

He spends his days unmotivated, moving from one game to the next, searching for his next challenge.

He never expected that challenge to come in the form of a girlโ€ฆ

A girl with zero fashion sense, a filthy mouth, and a bullsh*t attitude.

Unlike Holden, Jameson Taylor had no choice but to grow up.

Neglected, isolated, and forced to raise herself, Jameson only has one goal in life: graduate and move on.

The last thing she needs is some guy she canโ€™t stand suddenly declaring her as his new hobby.

Their lives couldnโ€™t be more opposite.

Their pasts a complete paradox.

But in each other, they find the unexpectedโ€ฆ

They find solace.

Fragments of foreverโ€ฆ

A forever that might tear them to pieces.

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review. Thank you!

Jay McLean is the perfect author for me if I want to read a book that has everything love, angst, humor, and a story that stays with me for days. Pieces of You is that perfect story for me, a perfect combination between love, angst, and a beautiful story.

โ€œSheโ€™s likeโ€ฆ a riddle. A paradox. An incomplete picture. Itโ€™s as if she only gives people fragments of herself. Pieces. I canโ€™t help but smile. Jameson Taylor is like a puzzle.โ€

Holden is a character that I meet in Leo and he was the perfect friend for Mia. I was curious to know more about him and his story and was happy when I found out that will get his book. Holden is a senior in high school and Jamie is the new girl in his school. They spent time together and for Holden, Jamie becomes a puzzle.

โ€œAnd maybe I had it wrong.
Maybe Holden Eastwood isnโ€™t the flame to my moth.
Maybe heโ€™s the moon.
The light.
Guiding me out of my darkness.โ€

Jamie had a difficult life and for her going to school is a new experience. For once, she is a normal teenager and has normal problems. She is very mature for her age and Holden becomes her friend and she learns to have fun with him. I love her because she is a fighter and she knows what she wants.

For Holden, Jamie was the lesson of life and he admired and respected her strength. I loved he wanted to protect her and make her see herself clearly. I loved that Holden showed her that she deserves to be loved and that she is extraordinary.

โ€It wouldโ€™ve been perfect. We couldโ€™ve been perfect. In another time. Another world. Where mine wasnโ€™t falling apart. And hers wasnโ€™t already in pieces.โ€

I loved this story and the characters Jamie and Holden. I recommend to everyone Pieces of You. I can’t wait to read the next book.
