Ava Diaz needs saving.
She just doesn’t know it yet.
Just like she doesn’t know a thing about the boy she sits next to on the first day of senior year.
He thinks she’s a brat.
She thinks he’s entitled.
Maybe first impressions don’t always last…
Because Connor Ledger’s about to save her.
He just doesn’t know why.
I read books by Jay McLean but this beautiful duet is my favorite duet from Jay McLean. This book made me feel so many feelings, love, heartbreak, humor, and angst. I suffered along with the characters Ava and Connor and I fell in love with them.
Love is not a noun.
Love is something you do.
Something you prove.
Something you work hard to create.
Love is not something that simply exists because you say it.
Love it not a noun.
Love is a verb.
Ava is a teenager but she can’t be a normal teenager because she has to support her family. She loves her family and she accepted her life because she is willing to sacrifice her life for her family. Ava is damaged and she needs love and understanding.
She meets Connor and he becomes her friend and with him, she can be a normal teenager. She fell in love with him and they began to have a relationship.
Connor is an athlete and he dreams to play basketball professionally and for that, he works every day. Until he meets an Ava, basketball is everything for him. After he gets to know Ava, he knows she is THE ONE.
“We find peace in each other’s arms, find solace in each other’s touch, and find a home in each other’s hearts…even if the space is limited.”
At first, they are friends but after a time they both realize that they in love and they began a relationship. They found peace, love, and home and they are happy together. They found in their relationship what are they missing from their family.
When the world is at its darkest, that’s when the magic appears.
They give each other what they need the most, Ava gives Connor love which he needs and Connor gives Ava hope and magic.
They fight for their relationship but they have problems because both felt that they aren’t enough and they need time to resolve their problems.
Their journey is beautiful and difficult at the same time. Their love for each other is real and you can feel their love. My heart ache for both of them, for their struggle, and their scars. Heartache and hope is a story about love, sacrifice, and family. Read this book if you want to read about real love and hard choices.
