I once met a man on a cold Halloween night. He dressed as a superhero, and I dressed in red. For one night, I was his break from reality, and he was the temporary fix for my broken heart.

Two years later, I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to become a senior editor at one of the biggest magazine companies in the world. The only catch? Nail an exclusive interview with New York’s finest bachelor: Connor Roe.

To the rest of the world he was becoming one of the wealthiest men in New York City. To me, he was simply my once upon a time superhero.

My job was to get an exclusive interview with New York’s hottest bachelor. Never in my life did I expect him to want an exclusive with my heart, too.

The only problem with my growing feelings for him? I was set to marry his new business partner.

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review. Thank you!

Eastern Lights is the second in the series Compass by Brittainy Cherry but you can read this book as a standalone. You can read my review of the first book Southern Storms here. In the first book, we meet Connor, he was a great son and friend but in this book, he is a wonderful man. I really love Connor.

“You’re not the quirky best friend, you’re not some random woman on page forty-five. You’re the main character. Day in and day out, you are the leading lady. And for me, you’re the one who got away”.

Aaliyah and Connor meet on a Halloween night and they spent a magic night, full of meanings for both of them. But, because they weren’t ready for a relationship, they decided to go the separate ways when the sun goes up and to let fate to decided if they belong together.

“We aren’t here to be comfortable; we are here to grow. And believe when I say, once you fall in love with yourself, the right people will come who expect nothing for you at all”

After two years they meet again, but this time Aaliyah was engaged to Connor’s business partner and they couldn’t be together. But Aaliyah’s fiance was a jerk and left her on her wedding day but Connor was there to help her to get through this rough time. Connor become her life coach and helped her realize that she is beautiful and worthy and helped her to love herself. It was beautiful to see the journey of Aaliyah and how she began to love herself.

They challenge each other to be the best versions of themselves.  I loved how they complete each other and how they support each other. They are really a perfect couple. Eastern Lights was an amazing book. The love between  Connor was magical and I recommend to every romance reader to read this book.

“At your best, you are loved’                                                                                He healed me by simply existing in my world. He was my person.      My lover. My friend. My family. And at his best, he was loved.”
